One of New Balance’s hottest sneakers of 2021, the stately 991 was the brand’s next chunky, retro-inspired silhouette to receive a heap of attention from collaborators and sneaker collectors alike. As timeless as ever, the “20th Anniversary” incorporates premium grey pig suede overlays on a grey mesh base. The grey “N” branding on both sides is reflective and shines when exposed to light in the dark. Unique to the “20th Anniversary,” the branding window on the heel displays embroidered “2001” detailing instead of “991” as a reference to the year in which the model debuted. Moreover, “20th Anniversary” detailing is printed on the underside of the grey mesh tongue. Navy “New Balance” and “991” branding is embroidered on the suede overlay on the tongue.
